Fifteen
Presenting my design journey through masterpieces, each telling a tale of style and innovation. The first of two pieces highlighted here reached the finals in a competition centered around the theme "fifteen."
GARMENT CREATIONS AND PORTFOLIO HIGHLIGHTS
This is one of my favorite designs in my design journey. Each piece tells a story of style and innovation.
Here is the first piece from the two pieces that are from the competition where I made it to the finals and the theme of the show was "fifteen"
Research has shown that color has psychological impact on human behavior and thoughts. My world of fashion design inspires elegance and each piece tells who you are. Since the theme was fifteen "15" I chose colors because they have a greatest impact on a full piece
A. DESIGN CONCEPT
In my first piece I wanted to portray that you can dress up to 15 colors on one outfit and still look elegant and beautiful. While each color representing it's own meaning and affirmations.
So I chose the colors according to color spectrum. I started from orange to blue, whereas I started with brown since brown is the shade of orange, so I chose shades of brown which are tan, chocolate, russet, coffee, golden and orange itself. Then yellow and its shades which are mastered yellow, bodak yellow and neon yellow. Then blue and its shades which are blue dragon, denim blue and blue . Although green follows yellow in color spectrum, I skipped it because it was going to change the meaning of my piece since the psychological negative side effect of green stimulates greedy, envy and jealous.
I wanted this piece to make a lady or a woman wearing it feel down-to-earth, nurturing, comforting, happiest, creative, free, energetic, confident, calm and the most beautiful wherever she goes respectively.
B. SKETCH

C. PATTERN MAKING
I designed strap dress for any woman of any size to be able to wear it. It doesn't limit any body shape. Because it's adjustable and looks good on any body size.
D. FABRIC INTEGRATION
I decided to use a barbie material due to it's elastic nature, body shaping and it's very comfortable.
E. CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES
During making straps I adjusted according to hips measurement in order to give it a beautiful look of the straps falling without disturbing the steps. Also on the side I attached golden braids in sectors according to the straps to provide elegant and eye catching look when she walks or moves her arm.
F. FINAL PRODUCT

G. STYLING AND PRESENTATION
I added beads on the half side of the piece to give it an elegant and charismatic look. Also I designed round cloth earrings with the same dominating color of my dress in order to add up more beautiful attention on the piece.
H. FEEDBACK
